Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the Victim Assistance Platform as well as the Demine Ukraine National Mine Action Platform, ensuring the platform runs smoothly, without downtime, and addresses user needs.
  • Implement any necessary technical updates, including software patches, security updates, and module upgrades (in necessary with external developers and DRC’s IT team).
  • Ensure that all functionalities of the platform, such as search tools, service listings, and user interface, are continuously optimized for usability and accessibility (for users with visual and other impairments).
  • Monitor site performance and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise, resolving problems promptly.
  • Manage user access and permissions for the platform, ensuring data security and integrity.
  • Manage the content on the Victim Assistance platform using the Drupal 10 CMS, and the Demine Ukraine website, ensuring all information is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.
  • Regularly update listings of services, resource materials, and other relevant content based on feedback from internal and external stakeholders, service providers, and Victim Assistance Working Group members.
  • Design, create, and upload visual elements, infographics, and other multimedia content as needed to enhance user experience.
  • Ensure that content adheres to DRC’s and partners’ guidelines, including language standards and visual branding.
  • Assist in the development of additional pages or features as requested by DRC, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, and other stakeholders
  • Identify and implement improvements in the design and functionality of both websites based on user feedback and evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with developers on any redesign or large-scale updates, providing input and guidance on both platforms’ design and usability.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in Drupal, CMS systems, and web design best practices to keep the platforms current.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for the Ministry of Economy and other relevant stakeholders on the Victim Assistance website’s use and management.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to Ministry personnel in preparation for the eventual handover of the platform.
  • Adapt existing user manuals for platform administrators to ensure smooth transition and handover.
  • Work closely with DRC management, external stakeholders, and the Ministry of Economy to ensure the platform aligns with the needs of all users.
  • Collaborate with external developers on any major platform developments or technical challenges.
  • Liaise with DRC’s HDP, Victim Assistance, Protection, IT, and communications teams to ensure the platform supports DRC’s overall mission and strategic goals.

Skills

  • Strong experience with Drupal API.
  • Experience similar content management systems (CMS) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web development best practices.
  • Experience working with MySQL databases, PHP, and hosting platforms.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and web accessibility standards.
  • Familiarity with other CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices for optimizing content.
  • Experience with visual design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma) and ability to design and implement UX/UI improvements.
  • Experience providing training or capacity-building support, preferably to non-technical users.
  • Advanced written skills in English and Ukrainian.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders (without relevant CMS and other experience).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, web design, computer science, digital communications, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Drupal certification) is desirable.
