Job Responsibilities

1. CRC Establishment and Coordination

Oversee the establishment process of the CRC at the local level, ensuring alignment with the developed SoP.
Manage the overall operations of the CRC and ensure smooth coordination between the CRC, Child Rights Committee, Bar Association Executive Board, and project partners.
Develop and maintain a network with relevant service providers and stakeholders to facilitate referrals.
Ensure the CRC functions as a sustainable and effective legal assistance mechanism for children.
2. Training and Capacity Building

Organize and oversee the regular training sessions for lawyers on child rights and legal assistance within the framework of CRCs.
Ensure that lawyers participate in training programs developed under the ÇABA project and facilitate their engagement in relevant capacity-building activities.
Develop and provide child-friendly legal information materials for children and their families.
Monitor the effectiveness of training activities and recommend improvements as needed.
Facilitate at least 20 supervision cases and prepare a report on the supervision services given monthly
3. Data Collection, Monitoring, and Reporting

Collect and analyze administrative data concerning justice for children at the local level.
Conduct at least 5 regular visits to detention centres (including prisons, removal centres, police custody etc.)
Monitor cases of concern and provide relevant information to the Bar Association and other stakeholders.
Identify key challenges and trends in child justice and propose recommendations for improvement.
4. Awareness-Raising and Coordination

Coordinate and support awareness-raising activities of the Bar Association on child rights.
Organize and manage the implementation of regular monitoring visits (every 3 months).
Ensure that case supervision mechanisms are effectively implemented, and that processes are diligently reported

Other Educational Qualification

  • A bachelor's degree in law.
  • Registered as a lawyer with the Trabzon Bar Association and having residency in Trabzon province.
  • A minimum of 1 year of working experience in legal practice.
  • Experience working with lawyers and other relevant actors on child rights.
  • Experience in project implementation, rights monitoring and reporting, strategic litigation, training, or academic research will be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with the Aydın Bar Association Child Rights Committee will be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Turkish and English

Skills

  • Sensitivity to and awareness about ethics regarding human and child rights issues, different cultures, local customs, religious beliefs and practices, personal interaction and gender roles, disability, age, and ethnicity.  
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to work closely with national and international actors under tight deadlines and to facilitate the coordination of a process.  
  • Computer literacy.
